Patterns Pieces

A few years ago I bought a dress makers pattern for a man’s shirt for use in my piece called “Women’s Work”. To my utter disappointment the pattern was on a white bond paper and not the tissue paper that I was expecting.  So I took a different route with that piece all together.

This past July our community had a huge garage sale as it does every year. While I was looking around I stumbled upon boxes of vintage patterns 60′s, 70′s and 80′s (can those year be called vintage now?) and best of all the lady said “take them away” FREE. Well after all who would really want them other than an artist.  Now they are mine all mine and I have started to play around with them both sculpturally and in paintings.
