The Jacket series references the metaphorical phrase “can’t judge a book by it’s cover”, as one shouldn’t prejudge the worth or value of something, by its outward appearance alone. The books are humanized by emulating a jacket as an article of clothing complete with fasteners; buttons, ties and other closures.
